The Canada Revenue Agency has evoked the proceeds of crime provisions of the Criminal Code to seize six rental properties and a motor vehicle belonging to two Ottawa residents charged with tax evasion, in the first use of these powers in a tax evasion investigation. The two suspects are large-scale property developers and landlords.
