The Bahamas government has introduced the Digital Assets and Registered Exchanges Bill 2020 (DARE Bill), providing a legal framework to regulate the issue and sale of digital crypto-assets, including digital tokens. Another Bill just introduced into the House of Assembly, the Financial and Corporate Services Providers Bill 2020, brings many more types of financial services businesses under regulatory control, including: financial and advisory or consultancy services; financial intermediation services; trading in commodities and other financial instruments; and custody of digital assets and wallet services providers.
